Balcony issues on Samaras Mansions, Asterid Heights and Lunaria House
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) attended East Village yesterday afternoon (6th August 2025) due to an issue identified on some of the balconies on Samaras Mansions, Asterid Heights and Lunaria House.
Some of the balconies on those buildings experienced issues to the underside panels due to high winds. This applies to only one type of balcony design, which features a single underside panel.
The LFB and the Police quickly assessed and managed the situation and removed the panels from two balconies. They have reassured us that you are in no immediate danger. Residents of those buildings have been instructed to avoid using their balconies until further notice.
EVML has conducted a visual inspection of all other balconies around East Village and can confirm they are safe to use.
A contractor has been appointed to attend Samaras Mansions, Asterid Heights and Lunaria House this week to remove the underside panel on the remaining affected balconies. Please be assured this is a precautionary measure in the interests of resident safety.
