Resident Engagement Strategy Feedback

Earlier this year, we asked residents for feedback on our draft Resident Engagement Strategy. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your thoughts. Your feedback is vital in helping us shape how we communicate with you and ensure that our engagement is meaningful.

What we heard

Four clear themes came through from the feedback:

  1. Clarity of information: many residents told us that the strategy was too complex or used too much technical language
  2. Trust and transparency: some felt that while there are lots of communications, the link between information and action is not always clear
  3. Building-specific updates: several residents asked for clearer information relevant to their building, including timelines and progress updates
  4. Engagement opportunities: residents said they want more visible opportunities to give feedback, and to also see how their input is acted upon

There were also positive comments recognising the value of having a strategy in place, and that consistent, reliable communication is key to building trust and confidence.

How we’ve responded

We have carefully considered this feedback and have taken steps to make sure our engagement is more accessible and easier to follow:

  1. We are publishing a series of short blog posts on our website that break down parts of the Resident Engagement Strategy into plain English, making them easier to understand
  2. We are focusing on clearer building-specific updates, so you know what is happening in your block
  3. We will continue to use a range of channels – email, letters, our website, digital screens and in-person meetings – so information reaches residents in different ways
  4. We have committed to ensuring that when we ask for feedback, we demonstrate how it has influenced what we do

Next steps

The Resident Engagement Strategy will remain a living document; one that evolves over time with your input. We will keep reviewing the way we communicate and will continue to make improvements based on your feedback.

We’d like to thank all residents again for sharing their views. Engagement is a two-way process and your input is key to building a stronger, more transparent relationship between residents and the EVML team.
